Billy Boy
This fun, medium up-temp jazz arrangement has been conceived for four or five trumpets a cappella. Optional rhythm section parts have been incorporated into the score and parts which add solo space and a delightful texture. With rhythm section, the timing of the piece, of course, expands to incorporate solo space.
ITG Journal, March 2019, page 100:"This arrangement is cute and catchy and employs typical swing-style rhythms and excellent trumpet section voicing that in turn give it great educational value. While the arrangement is short, at less than two minutes without a rhythm section or solo section in the middle, it would be a great addition to any jazz trumpet ensemble library."
